Pompano Beach Wallpaper Mural Installation

The short answer

We install stock and custom wallpaper murals in Pompano Beach homes and condos. We measure before you order, prep and prime the wall smooth, and align every panel to the image so the finished mural reads as one continuous scene.

Ocean views are a big part of why people live in Pompano Beach, but plenty of rooms do not have one. A printed wallpaper mural can bring a scene indoors: tropical leaves in an interior bedroom, a pale watercolor seascape in a hallway, a botanical print in a dining room or a bright cartoon world in a kid's room. Murals are produced as a set of numbered panels that combine into one picture, so the quality of the install depends on accurate measuring and precise alignment. We travel about seven miles north from Fort Lauderdale to install murals in homes and condos across 33060, 33062, 33064 and 33069.

Before you order: what we need to know

Ordering the right size is the step most likely to go wrong. Custom murals are printed to the dimensions you submit, and walls in older Pompano houses and concrete condo towers are rarely perfectly square or level. We measure at several points across the width and height and note any steps in the ceiling, soffits or crown molding that change where the image will be trimmed.

We also note what sits on the wall. Outlets, switches, vents, thermostats and door frames can end up right on top of an important part of the image. Shifting the artwork before it is printed avoids that.

  • Exact width and height at several points, plus recommended bleed
  • Locations of switches, outlets, vents and doorways
  • Height of furniture that will sit in front of the mural
  • Whether the image should stop at a corner or wrap onto the next wall

Choosing a mural material for a coastal city

Pompano Beach brings humidity, salt air near the beach and strong sun. Those conditions push us toward stable, durable substrates. Non-woven murals keep their shape when humidity rises and fall, and they usually remove cleanly when you want something new. Vinyl-coated murals add moisture resistance and wipeability, which helps in family rooms, kids' rooms and spaces near balcony doors.

Self-adhesive murals are easy to buy online, but warmth and humidity can cause edges to lift, particularly on walls with any texture. For lasting results in a coastal home, a paste-applied mural is the safer bet. If the mural will face a large window, ask the maker about fade-resistant inks.

Preparing walls for a large printed image

A mural is unforgiving because a photographic or painted image shows every bump in the wall beneath it. Concrete walls in condo buildings often have small voids and uneven skim coats, while block homes may have cracks running from window corners. We fill, sand and, where needed, skim the whole wall before applying a white wallcovering primer that keeps old paint colors from tinting lighter areas of the print.

On walls that face the outside, we check for dampness and efflorescence. A mural should not go over a wall with moisture coming through.

The hanging sequence

We lay all panels out in order and compare them to the manufacturer's diagram. Some murals are designed to overlap slightly, while others butt together, and the method changes how we cut. The first panel goes up against a plumb line, not the corner, because corners in older buildings can lean.

Each following panel is matched to the image at several heights. We smooth from the center outward to push out air, press seams with a roller and trim the excess at the ceiling and floor only after the full image is aligned. Any adhesive on the printed face is lifted immediately before it dries.

Murals in condos and nearby cities

In condo buildings we coordinate with management on elevator use, work hours and deliveries, and we keep shared hallways clean. Beyond Pompano Beach we install murals in Lauderdale-by-the-Sea, Oakland Park, Wilton Manors, North Lauderdale and Lauderdale Lakes.

After installation, keep the room steadily air-conditioned for a few days so the adhesive cures evenly, especially during hurricane season, when storms can interrupt power.

FAQ

Common questions

Can you install a mural I already purchased?

Yes. Send us the product details, and if you have not ordered yet, let us measure the wall first.

Will a mural fade in a sunny Pompano Beach room?

Strong direct sun can fade some inks over time. Fade-resistant prints, window film or shades help protect the image.

What happens if my walls are not square?

We plan the bleed and hang to a plumb line so the image looks straight, then trim the edges to fit the actual wall.

Is a mural a good idea in a child's room?

Yes. A vinyl-coated mural is a sensible choice because it can be wiped clean of fingerprints and marks.

Can you put a mural on a concrete condo wall?

Yes. We repair and smooth the concrete, check for moisture and prime before hanging.

How do I remove a mural later?

Non-woven murals on a primed wall typically peel off dry in whole panels, leaving the wall ready for paint.

Ready to plan your wallpaper project?

Tell us about the room, the paper you have in mind and the condition of the walls. We will follow up to look at the space and map out the work.
